What is the Asian American Leadership Institute?

The Asian American Leadership Institute (AALI) at the University of Texas Multicultural Information Center offers a unique opportunity for students to gain skills in Asian American leadership via skill-building focused on:

Program Planning
Fundraising/Budgeting
Publicity and Promotion
Graphic Design
Identity Development
Public Speaking/facilitating discussions
Activism
Community Outreach
Asian American History

Participants of AALI then get a chance to use their newly acquired traits to plan the 3rd statewide, Pan-Asian American, conference at UT - Building a Better FoundAsian (BABFA), where they get to add their input on all aspects of the conference, from what speakers and performers to get, to the details of the workshops. At the conclusion of AALI, participants receive a letter of recommendation from the University of Texas Multicultural Information Center, and accredited experience to note in their résumés.
