| Quotes from the Daily Texan | APAC's Perspectives |
| "The report listed four counts of racial profiling or hate crimes against Asian-Americans at the University, but APAC did not provide The Daily Texan with documentation of these incidents, saying that they wanted to protect the identities of the students involved. Mamta Accapadi, an adviser to APAC and assistant director of the Multicultural Information Center, declined to give a range of dates for these incidents." | The report only lists 4 counts, but we have made it clear in the report that Asian
American hate crimes around campus are not limited to these cases. We cannot give
documentation of these hate crimes because that would invade the privacy of the victims.
The Racial Profiling/Hate Crimes section of the report is only 2 pages (out of a 100 page
report), yet the writer opted to focus most of her article on this issue.

| "The committee's 2004 report said that data collected did not suggest any trend of racial profiling in UTPD's practices." | President Faulkner has not yet appointed the 2005-2006 Police Oversight Committee and a large portion of the recent hate crimes against Asian Americans took place in Spring 2005. The Police oversight committee was established by Faulkner in 2003 after a UT student reported racial profiling by UTPD. The committee was not provided with information about pedestrians stopped on campus in time for their 2004 report. |
| "APAC's report, titled "The State of Asian-American Affairs," has been compiled by APAC since this summer. It draws on "our own opinions created from our own experiences at the University," Ngo said." | Joi Ngo's quote was taken out of context, when she uses "we", she refers to Asian American students at UT, she is not referring to members or APAC. |
